MealTime
Nativity has chosen MealTime (www.mymealtime.com) as our point of sale system. All students, faculty and staff at Nativity have a MealTime lunch account.
For a MealTime informational flyer, click here.
MealTime provides the opportunity for families to make online deposits into their student’s lunch account or view their student’s purchase history. There will be a transaction fee applied to all deposits made through the online system. If you prefer not to pay online, you may send cash or checks (made payable to Nativity Catholic School) to the school office.
Invoices will be mailed weekly to notify families of their lunch account balances. If your balance due reaches $100 or more, you will be notified and requested that your student(s) bring lunch from home. See the Nativity handbook for our charging policy.
Free and Reduced Benefits
Families that believe they would qualify for free or reduced-priced meals should submit a free/reduced meal application. You may apply for these benefits at any time. Applications can be found on this page or visit the school office to obtain a copy.
Those students who are eligible for free meals can get a free breakfast and a free lunch every school day. Those students who are eligible for reduced meals can get a breakfast for $0.30 and a lunch for $0.40 every school day. The free and reduced eligibility is programmed into the MealTime system so it remains confidential.
Offer Versus Serve
Offer Versus Serve (OvS) is a meal service method designed to reduce food waste and food costs in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program without jeopardizing the nutritional integrity of the meals served.
At lunch, schools must offer all five components (fruit, vegetables, grains, meat/meat alternates, fluid milk) and students must select at least three components, one of which is 1/2 cup fruit and/or vegetable.
At breakfast, schools must offer at least four food items from three required components (fruit, grains, fluid milk) and students must select at least three food items, one of which is 1/2 cup fruit and/or vegetable.
Students should always be allowed to take all of the components in the full portion sizes if they choose. For more information about OvS check out the fact sheets linked on this page.
Wellness Policy
Nativity Catholic School promotes healthier eating options in accordance with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis’ Wellness Policy. Classroom celebrations will focus on activities (e.g. giving free time, extra recess, music, and reading time,) rather than food.
