The music curriculum at Nativity utilizes the approach to teaching and learning music known as Orff Schulwerk, and follows the guidelines set forth the Indiana State Music Standards. Orff Schulwerk is total, active involvement in music-making that incorporates speech, singing, movement, and instrumentplaying in a creative environment. It develops the whole child with a balance of emotional and intellectual stimulation.

Students at Nativity have a variety of options to explore their love of music outside the regular classroom hours. The Choirs are open to 4th-8th graders, while Band is available to 5th-8th graders.
In addition to these programs, the Nativity Music Department hosts a variety of exciting events throughout the school year, catering to diverse interests. The Variety Show lets students showcase their skills in a fun and entertaining way, while Folk Dance Night provides an opportunity to learn traditional dances from diff erent cultures. Our Veterans Day Program is a meaningful opportunity for our students to express appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our country. The Christmas Program is a must-see, featuring beautiful music and heartwarming performances that capture the spirit of the season. Older students can showcase their talents on stage with the Middle School Musical. Finally, the Spring Program is a wonderful way to wrap up the academic year with a celebration of music and community.
