All 3rd – 6th Grade Boys,
Hello everyone, my name is Jamin Wernke and the Roncalli Boys Basketball Program is very excited to begin our 23/24 Royal Basketball Club season.
It is our goal to make our youth program one that the whole south side would like to be a part of. We are learning and trying to improve every year. We will accomplish this by focusing on skill development, competition and fun. Because we are practicing our teams on Roncalli's campus, we will only be able to field two teams, a competitive “A” and “B”, at each level. We will have two tryouts to assemble these teams. We will do our very best to give our boys great competition while also giving them a great experience.
Most of our teams will be playing in a newly developed league called Indy Ball. This league might require some travel to the Noblesville/Fishers area but we will also be able to host a couple weekends here at Roncalli. They will have 3 different divisions in order to make sure we are playing teams of similar skill level. These games will be played on Sundays. We played in this league last year and they have promised a better experience for our “B” teams. I won’t sign our teams up officially until I know for sure who else is fielding B and C teams. When it comes to practice, we plan to get every team at least one practice here on campus at Roncalli. The dates for the Indy Ball league are as follows:
November 19
December 3 (Doubleheader)
December 10
December 17 (Doubleheader)
January 7 (Doubleheader)
January 21
January 28 (Doubleheader)
February 4
February 11 End of Season tournament
February 18 End of Season Tournament
If we don’t feel, the Indy Ball League is the best league for every team, we might send some of our teams to play in the MYT League. We will have a decision made before we have tryouts.
We've covered the important stuff, the games and the practices, but we are continuing to improve the way we look on the floor. All players will be provided with a premium player pack. This pack includes 2 uniforms, a personalized shooting shirt, travel bag and 2 pairs of team socks. We also feel it is very important for our youth player participants to experience our high school games. This will help build their connection to the program and let them see what it takes to be a high school player. We will be including a player pass for each participant that will allow access to all our home games. We want our youth to be thinking about playing for the Royals on every drive home.
Here is a Google Form to register, input your uniform sizes and number preferences.
